Occasionally I get emails from men who want to congratulate me on the success or idea behind Debian Women. I'm generally happy to receive these emails -- indeed, some of them have gone into lengthy explanations of why they think it's needed and a good idea or what have you. Invariably, they end their emails with a comment similar to one of the below:
I'm not sure if they expect a reply. Given some of the content in their emails (which I never reply to if they have comments like these) it seems like they do, but you'd never know it with such stereotypical behavior. Women are not only good for usability-related tasks, I don't want to hear about your biological imperative, you're not forgiven for being gauche, and if I want pictures of you, I'll ask.
